Donagh Community Employment Scheme Ltd

EMPLOYMENT SCHEME


The Community Employment (CE) programme is now administered under the DSP (Department of Social Protection) and is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed and other disadvantaged people to get back to work.

This is done by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities like ourselves and to be given the opportunity to update and gain new skills whilst on the CE Scheme.  Participants can take up other part-time work during their placement.

The CE programme is Sponsored by groups wishing to benefit the local community, namely voluntary organisations and public bodies involved in not-for-profit activities.   To participate in the DSP Community Employment programme, you must:
           >Register at your local Employment Services Office
           >Meet certain Eligibility Criteria


A Training Budget is available to update and gain new skills and all participants on CE Scheme is encouraged to undertake Training to assist them gain either full or part-time employment during or after their term on Community Employment Scheme.


In order to qualify for a Community Employment Scheme, you must contact your local Employment Services Office in the South East to register for positions that become available together with a Job Vacancy Number for the particular position you are applying for.

Positions will be posted up on Jobs Ireland Website or you may contact our CE Supervisor and you will be provided with the Vacancy number prior to making contact with DSP.  This is required before any Interviews will take place.  Job Searches will be carried out on all individuals that apply in order to see if they are eligible for the CE Scheme.



DSP gives financial support in the form of Allowances and Funding to assist with the Community Employment programme, for example participant wages, supervisor grants, materials grants, and specific skills training grants.

The training provided through Community Employment is delivered within a Quality Assurance framework. See details of recognised FETAC Awards and qualifications which can be achieved and which lead to major awards on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Donagh Community Employment Scheme is responsible provides participants in three areas. 
Scheme Location: Emyvale, Glaslough and Truagh.
